The BMW S1000RR 2012-2014
This sleek beast is hands down one of the best 1L motorbikes to go for, also known as the K46 this could be the one for you. (Featured above)

It looks great, but it also performs exactly how it should, strong delivery and smooth riding for any handler beginners or experienced due to its improved chassis and suspension in comparison to its previous model. The power of the bike is 14,000 rpm with a strong 9,750 rpm torque.

Even with the new updated version this bike is still the benchmark for most for the 1Ls.

This beasty however will set you back £8,800 - £14,000 but due to the overwhelming positives this is a solid choice and widely used throughout the world.

Suzuki GSX-R1000 K5 2005
If you don’t want to blow all your cash there is an alternative, the Suzuki GSX.

This is much cheaper than most other 1Ls this bike is very cost efficient and that doesn’t affect the looks of the bike it still looks great, handles smoothly and is very comfortable to ride making longer trips less hassle for this robust model. The ergonomic design of the bodywork not only made it comfortable to ride but also made it lighter and smaller, even with an engine upgrade.

From previous models they added a completely new chassis which increased the engine from 989 to 999cc which is why its still in this 1000cc race as well as its competitive price. The engine is 10,800 rpm while the torque is 8,400. However, the durability on this bike isn’t as great as its predecessors.

The price for this bike is only £4,200 - £4,800 which is almost half the price of a lot of 1Ls making it much more affordable.

Ducati 1198S 2008-2011
The Ducati is another high-priced bike more so than the BMW but it is a beauty!

The Ducati is a bright red, very sporty looking bike, quiet fitting to be placed on a super bike list. Aside from paint changes it is similar to its previous model trying to carry over its heritage, this bike however is much lighter than its big brother from wheels to inner workings.

Even if the engine and torque isn’t as powerful as previous bikes above thebody work and is essentially the homologation special Ducati 1098R with an incredible cut in price. The engine tops 9,750 rpm while the torque only tops7,750 rpm but this is a bike more for show and tell.

The price for the Ducati is £7,500 - £13,000 and as a re-sale there is a possibility of being even cheaper.

Yamaha YZF-R1 2009-2011
This motor bike was the most significant R1 bikes and even now it still hold sits own against the greats. Yamaha motorcycles are reliable and always positively looked at, so why not take this motorcycle for a spin around town?

The framework makes the ride comfortable and easy to handle while riding but it also looks great with the colour variants one of the favourites being white and pink or white and red.

The most exciting part of the Yamaha at the time was the engine and the noise that came with it which sounds very similar to the Yamaha V-Max it is also a very powerful engine with a power level at 12,500 rpm and a torque of 10,000.The front drive feels comfortable and any rider can feel comfortable and controlling with this bike.

The price of the Yamaha is anywhere in between £7,500 – £10,000 but specs and looks? Well worth it for one of the most exciting road bikes.

Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade
Do you want a sophisticated technical bike that doesn’t cost an arm and leg even on re-sale? This might be one for you and with a name like “Fireblade” how could you avoid this!

This is a classy looking super bike that uses electronic inspiration from bikes such as the Aprilia RSV4 and creates a stylish slim beauty to travel down roads with. The height of bike is a little taller and longer than others which gives enough space for the rider behind.

This has the best of both worlds both powerful and classy the engine comes in with a rather large 11,250 rpm and a torque of 8,500 rpm with great control and seat for both riders one of the more recommended super bike two riders.

Price. Although not cheap it certainly isn’t over the top and is positively well rounded, you can get this bike for anything from £4,000 - £9,000 and there is a chance for a pampered low miler from motorcycle dealers if you’re lucky!

Triumph Daytona 955i 2006
Although definitely not the most powerful of the bunch this bike is here for a few other reasons.

A simple roomy bike that feels great to ride and control and with a simple design which makes country roads feel awesome to travel along both being somewhat fast but mainly smooth.

The Daytona is nothing to rave about but it still has a decent engine power of10,700rpm and torque of 8,700 rpm and three cylinder definitely not one you want to take with you for races but not one to dismiss just because its slightly under powered.

The reason this deserves to be here is because if you’re looking for a reliable hardy bike the Daytona 955i does just that for little cost apart from lack of power, the price for this model is still only £3,000 - £4,000 and usually re-sales are sold with 4,500 miles and readily available making this a great
contender for first time riders and being a cheap motorbike doesn’t mean it’ll let you down!

Kawasaki ZX-10R 2011-2015
Of course we have to mention the Kawasaki Japanese innovation this fairly high end bike calls out to be rode.

The bike is fairly large and comes in 3 variants plain green, green and black and finally white and titanium the bike is comfortable for people to ride and slim, great for corners.

The Kawasaki has a great engine with 12,200 rpm with a 11,000 torque and 200bhp it runs very smoothly and with the Kawasaki Intelligent Breaking System(KIBS) it only adds 3kgs to the overall weight which isn’t bad since the system provides great safety features.

Lastly the price, £6,500 - £10,000 is nothing to scoff at for a bike like this both being loved by tracks and general road usage it is another great all-rounder.

MV Agusta 1078 RR 2008-2013

The Agusta is best known for its desirable looks but it doesn’t do that bad with its decent engine

The bike is fairly large but looks good. It favours the smaller riders otherwise it can hurt wrists and knees to those on the taller side this is because it has a rather extreme seating position in comparison to other bikes and being on the taller side. Unlike the previous bike this one is not as plush.

The engine is a 998cc four cylinder with a power of 10700 rpm (197.3bhp) and a8100 rpm torque which is pretty good the only downside is the electronics that come with it are rather on and off with if they work.

The price of the Agusta is between as low as £4,000 to as high as £10,000 even the priced is hit and miss but it is still a great machine for casual riding.

Aprilia Tuono V4R 2012
The Aprilia is a plush high powered ride great for track days as well as general riding.

The bike has lots of colour variants with lots of customisation options. It has a great riding angle for a comfortable ride, tight corners and long travels. For track days you can activate it’s GPS module the memorizes the track layout and will adjust the engine accordingly.

Speaking about the engine, the Aprilia has a great power to weight ratio with a four-cylinder engine giving 11000rpm (162hp) and a torque of 9000 rpm with a weight of 179kg (dry) giving you a nice feeling of control when turning.

The price of this bike is between £6,500 - £10,000 a fair deal for a secondhand at this calibre.

Kawasaki Z1000 2017
In comparison to the other bikes on the list this is one of the best street oriented motorbikes here. It is also the newest bike of the bunch.

Plenty of space for both rider and the passenger with great space for bags, and a nice simple style, more of an upright ride in comparison to the other bikes. It is fairly small but since it is built for the touring and cruising it doesn’t need to huge.

The engine, a four-cylinder puts power out at 10,300 rpm (127.5hp) and a torque of 7510rpm it does pretty well for a bike mainly used for street riding. The bike weighs 220kg but isn’t sluggish at all and responds great to turning.

The price of this bike is £5,000 - £10,000 but is highly recommended especially in countries such as India and anywhere with small streets or lots of street navigation.
